Running season!

A couple of sub 100 degree days in a row and I'm seriously considering starting to run again. I just can't hack the Texas summer for any real running so I normally just play beach volleyball at zilker or something else to stave off all the chocolate I eat. If you pass me on Town Lake trail huffing along for the next few weeks say hello, though I doubt you'll get much of an audible response. To this end I was bored and decided to make a placeholder for my race results from a few past races. I'm probably going to make a Drupal module that stores all training and race information properly in the database so I can use it for statistical analysis and other geekery but just getting it all in one place will be nice. -mf

Refuse to be terrorized

I think more people are coming around to the fact that the people and objects used in terroristic plots aren't the targets they are the weapons. The affected billions are the targets and we are losing the war. Bruce Schneier writes a compelling article for wired about the issue here.

Interesting Finds Today

Just wanted to post these interesting google related links up here so I didn't forget them later:

Modified Preorder Tree Traversal in Gallery2

I just discovered that József Rekedt-Nagy is going to be implementing the MPTT algorithm that I tried to convince Bharat to implement last year. I think this is great news for the Gallery project and I'd like to get involved if im not to late already. This important decoupling of the gallery will usher in a whole slew of cool new feature possibilites. Now if i can just make some headway in multiple hierarchy taxonomy. -mf
